Freddie Mac Data Breach Lawsuit Investigation

07.10.2020

On July 7, 2020, Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, also known as Freddie Mac, disclosed that one of its vendors was the victim of a data breach whereby third-party hackers gained access to sensitive information maintained on the vendor’s servers and demanded a ransom in exchange for not releasing the information.

Freddie Mac disclosed that a vendor it hired to perform due diligence services on loans purchased by Freddie Mac experienced a ransomware attack on its systems, which left the vendor’s system inaccessible. The stolen information includes loan application data, including full names, home addresses, social security numbers, dates of birth, and credit and bank account information.

Affected individuals are now at serious risk. If you received a notification letter informing you that your personal information was compromised in the Freddie Mac data breach, please call us at 816.714.7105 or fill out a contact us form below.
