On March 30, 2024, AT&T – the largest wireless carrier in the United States – acknowledged suffering a data breach impacting more than 7.6 million current customers and 65 million former customers. AT&T previously denied it was the victim of a breach even though customers' account information appeared on the dark web as far back as 2021.
