Lawsuit Against MGM Casinos for Minimum Wage Violations
A collective action lawsuit has been filed against MGM Resorts International and one of its subsidiary casinos failing to pay its tipped employees properly under federal wage and hour laws. The Plaintiff seeks to represent tipped employees at:
- Borgata in Atlantic City, New Jersey;
- MGM Grand Detroit in Detroit, Michigan;
- Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi;
- Gold Strike Tunica in Tunica, Mississippi; and
- MGM National Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland.
The complaint alleges that MGM and its casinos violated tipped employees’ rights by failing to pay minimum wage and claiming a tip credit without providing a valid tip credit notice. In addition, we are continuing to investigate other wage issues at MGM casinos.
Employees may be eligible to participate in this case if they meet the following criteria:
- Worked at any of the following MGM casinos at any time during the last three years: Borgata in Atlantic City, New Jersey; MGM Grand Detroit in Detroit, Michigan; Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi; Gold Strike Tunica in Tunica, Mississippi; and MGM National Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland; and
- Were paid a direct cash wage (i.e., the amount paid by the casino not counting tips) of $7.24 or less.
