Norman Siegel Appointed to Steering Committee in the Target Security Breach Litigation
Norman E. Siegel of Stueve Siegel Hanson LLP is one of three lawyers appointed to the Consumer Cases Steering Committee on behalf of consumers in the Target Corporation breach class action litigation. On May 22, 2014, U.S. District Judge Paul A. Magnuson approved the leadership team on behalf of Plaintiffs.
In December, Target revealed that hackers had apparently stolen 40 million customers' credit and debit card information and compromised 70 million customers' names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses in 2013. The litigation includes more than 80 member cases from consumers, nearly 30 from banks and four shareholder derivative actions.
The case is In re: Target Corp. Customer Data Security Breach Litigation, case number 0:14-md-02522, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.
