Confidential Settlement Reached in UTi Worldwide FLSA Collective Action

The parties in the FLSA collective action reached a confidential settlement and recovery for the class members in July 2012.

The lawsuit alleged that UTi Worldwide consistently violated federal and Illinois state wage and hour laws by failing to pay its forklift drivers all earned wages and overtime and by failing to accurately record all time worked pre-shift and during unpaid lunch breaks.

The Court certified this case as both a nationwide Federal Labor Standards Act (FLSA) collective action on behalf of all forklift operators who worked for UTi at any time since March 18, 2008, and as an Illinois state law class action on behalf of all forklift operators employed in the state of Illinois since September 2004.
